Daily Dish (“the app”) requires no account and most features work offline. We use limited analytics and crash diagnostics. The Android and iOS versions use AdMob and Unity Ads.
Analytics and crash diagnostics
Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics help us understand aggregate usage and fix stability problems. On Android and iOS, AdMob and Unity Ads may process device or SDK user identifiers, coarse location, purchase-related signals, advertising and product interaction data, other usage data, performance information and device traits to deliver and measure ads. Consent or tracking permission is requested where required; when personalized advertising is not permitted, contextual or non-personalized ads may still be shown. We do not send your pantry, dietary preferences, shopping list or recipe choices to ad providers.
Feedback you choose to send
If you use Send feedback in Settings, we store your message and optional 1–5 rating in Google Cloud Firestore together with the app language, platform, app version, build number and submission time. We do not ask for or attach a name, email address, account or advertising identifier. Please do not include personal or sensitive information in the message. Feedback is used only to improve and support the app, is not publicly readable, and is retained for no more than 12 months. You can request earlier deletion by emailing us with the approximate submission date, language/platform and a short identifying excerpt from the message.
Data stored on your device
The app saves your preferences locally on your phone using the operating system’s standard storage. This never leaves your device and includes only:
- your chosen interface language and cuisine;
- your pantry selections (which ingredients you have);
- your daily-reminder settings (on/off and time);
- any menu choices you make.
Deleting the app removes this data.
Notifications
If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device. No notification data is sent to us or any third party.
Links to other services
Tapping a recipe’s video search opens YouTube in your browser or the YouTube app. Once you leave Daily Dish, the privacy policy of that service applies. We do not send your personal information to those services.
Photos and attribution
Recipe photos come from open-license sources (Wikimedia Commons, Openverse). Each photo’s author, source, and license are credited inside the app under Settings → Photo sources. This does not involve any of your data.
This website
This marketing website uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate visits (for example, page views). This is separate from the app and does not identify you personally.
Children
The app is not directed to children and does not request names, email addresses or account details. The same limited analytics and crash-diagnostic data described above may be processed when the app is used.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
